Danheim Honors the Past while Forging Ahead on New Single “Heimferd”

With more than 1 billion streams and features in the History Channel TV show Vikings, Danheim has become a cornerstone for Nordic folk, Viking and World music alongside Heilung and Wardruna. Now, after signing with Season of Mist, producer Reidar Schaefer Olsen is continuing to evolve the Nordic sound by journeying home on his upcoming new album.
Today, Danheim is releasing the title track as the first advanced single from Heimferd. “Heimferd” embodies the album’s essence; its journey isn’t bound by mythological narrative but guided by ancestral memory. Composed entirely by Olsen, the song balances pounding percussion with restrained minimalism, primal ritual with quit introspection. It resonates with a sense of cultural return: familiar yet distant, grounded - and yet, timeless, too.
