The Helsinki-based alt-rock band Cyan Kicks was first formed in 2016 by vocalist Susanna Alexandra, guitarist Niila Perkkiö, bassist Leevi Erkkilä and drummer Pietari Reijonen. Cyan Kicks have always displayed a happy knack of presenting incredibly strong and uplifting music in a genre known for its emotionally misplaced bombast. As well as their “cavalier spirit”, there is a beauty in the sincerity and directness of their songs.
Come Hell, Come High Water is the band's most powerful album to date, created in four cities over two intense years: 'Come Hell, Come High Water' was born out of the most difficult times we've faced as a band. We set out to create an album that we could look back on decades from now and proudly say: there's not a single weak song on it. That's why we decided to include only 10 songs on the album, to give each song the time, attention and dedication it deserves. The album was written and worked on over two years in Los Angeles, Gothenburg, Helsinki and London. Throughout the process, we took the songs further than ever before, both in writing and production. We took our music into heavier, angrier and more aggressive territory. Each song carries a raw intensity that reflects the emotions and struggles that inspired this record, making the album not just a collection of songs, but a statement of determination and strength. It's Cyan Kicks' most ambitious and uncompromising album to date.
All songs on the album were recorded, produced and mixed by the band's Niila Perkkiö, except for "Dancing with Demons", which was finalized with producer Dan Lancaster, known for his work with Muse, Bring Me The Horizon and Blink 182, among others.
