Rising UK Heavy Metal power trio ELD VARG have unleashed their fierce new single, Darkest Waves, ahead of their hotly anticipated second album, Destroyer, landing Friday 14th November. Hailing from Glasgow, ELD VARG have blazed a brutal trail through Scotland’s underground metal scene with a signature blend of riff-driven, groove-laden, and melodically rich metal, steeped in Norse mythology, epic battles, and tales of triumph. Initially formed as a solo studio project by frontman Ollie Noakes, the band exploded onto the live circuit with 2023’s acclaimed debut album, One Man Army, rapidly evolving from support act to headline status.

Now fully forged as a ferocious three-piece — Ollie Noakes (Guitar & Lead Vocals), Andy Hedges (Drums & Backing Vocals), and Micah Snow (Bass & Backing Vocals) — ELD VARG have become a fixture on the UK metal circuit. Their high-octane performances have earned them slots alongside the likes of Florence Black (at a sold-out Glasgow show), Anvil, Ye Banished Privateers, Tytan, Brave the Seas, and Tailgunner. Their festival presence continues to grow, with praised appearances at Wildfire, Call of the Wild, and a headline set at Winter Warmer Festival, where they were hailed as both the “discovery of the weekend” and “favourite band of the festival.”

The upcoming album, Destroyer, marks a bold new chapter for the band — heavier, more anthemic, and unified in sound. “It was written during a period of uncertainty,” shares frontman Ollie Noakes. “It explores pushing through hardship and moving forward when there’s no clear path. Layered with Viking imagery and meaning, the record carves out a stronger direction for the band.”

With Darkest Waves crashing ashore this September, fans will get a first taste of ELD VARG’s evolved sound before the full assault of Destroyer in November. A UK tour in late November and December will follow, bringing the band’s crushing new material to venues across the country in what promises to be their most unrelenting live assault yet.
