“We’re incredibly proud to unleash COSMIC COLD WAR onto the metal world with our debut EP Inconsequential Oblivion. The band, and this EP were born in the depths of the darkest times that most of us have ever experienced. Yet as most metal fans know, the best way of battling darkness is to know it, explore it and embrace it. I began delving into cosmic horror authors such as H.P. Lovecraft in mid-2019, which coincidentally was one of the greatest years for metal music in recent memory (Tool’s Fear Inoculum, Slipknot’s We Are Not Your Kind, Dream Theater’s Distance Over Time, as well as Metallica’s S&M2 concerts). All these influences must have been bursting to come out and, when the pandemic hit, Cosmic Cold War was born.

Hopefully the songs demonstrate the scope and scale of the band and will give listeners plenty of food for thought, as well as an idea of the journey that we hope they will join, as we charge into 2022 and beyond. It’s unbelievably exciting to finally be bringing these songs to life with the rest of the band in the rehearsal room.
