Colombia-based death metal act DEFAMATORY is proud to announce that their new album “Path of No Return” is available as CD and digital from the 11th of November, 2025 via Chinese label Awakening Records!
Steeped in the classic '90s death metal of scene progenitors such as Death, Morbid Angel, Obituary, Entombed, and others, DEFAMATORY crafts dark riffs that are both intricate and straightforward, yet always brutal.

On “Path of No Return,” DEFAMATORY relentlessly bash their way through nine crushing death metal tracks, clocking in at a perfect 31-minute run time that captures all the aggression the band can dish out. Mainly keeping to mid-paced chugging tempos, DEFAMATORY knows how to inject memorable guitar melodies and chantable choruses at will.
Album opener "Degrading Beings" - the longest track on the album with a duration of 4:14 - is a furious beast, decorated with dive bomb guitar leads, pounding double kick drums, relentless blast beats, and throat-ripping vocals. From there, tracks such as the vitriolic "Summoning Hate," the slamming "Corruption of the Corpse," and the furious album closer "Ritual Torment" encapsulate the perfect blend of melody and brutality.
Andrés Figueroa on the recording of “Path of No Return”: "The album was self-financed through our own savings. We were very close to completing it before the COVID-19 pandemic, which unfortunately caused major delays. It was recorded at Dirty Sound Studios by Mario and Hugo Uribe, founders of the legendary band WITCHTRAP. Working with them was invaluable. They captured a unique, dark, and crushing sound, perfectly balancing brutality with clarity. The result was exactly the powerful and devastating sonic assault we envisioned."
