Dying Remains’ debut full-length, Merciless Suffering, is a masterclass in songwriting, delivering an uncompromising blend of crushing brutality and catchy, well-crafted moments that have made the genre a monolithic force. This is death metal for those who appreciate the genre's time-tested foundation. Dying Remains brings build upon a mid-tempo, catchy blend of death metal similar to acts like Morta Skuld, Jungle Rot, and Obituary while still keeping things fresh and exciting for a new generation of death metal to take root.

Merciless Suffering also tells a gruesome story throughout. Drawing heavily from '70s and '80s B-grade gore films, the video for "Hung and Drawn" is a short horror film that depicts one gruesome segment from the album's over-arching story of a sprawling torture chamber. The band, all avid fans of the horror genre, wanted to bring this macabre vision to life, and the result is a truly unsettling and memorable piece of art.
