විරෑපී (VIRŪPI) presents Sri Lankan atmospheric/ambient black metal unit Celepathy’s Lost Silver Dream, compiling six instrumental sessions produced between 2014 and 2015. The first four of them were previously released only on Bandcamp in 2022, while the final two demos are making their debut. Lost Silver Dream will be available on cassettes on 11 October 2024.
One-man unit Celepathy emerged from Sri Lanka, an often-overlooked breeding ground of both exquisite and grotesque forms of black metal over the past decade. Although the Colombo-based entity looms out of the atmospheric and post-metal obscurities, the fuel from ‘90s ambient black metal significantly propels its otherworldly voyage. As a result, the music’s ethereal energy often takes unsettling, ominous turns, fluctuating between graceful moments and abrasive, cold aesthetics.
