After being anticipated by two singles and a video, "Magna Umbra", the new album by the São Paulo Black Metal band Carpatus is available in Brazil by the Hammer of Damnation label and with worldwide distribution through the Black Metal Store, and on streaming platforms.
The successor to the acclaimed Tormenta (2021) was recorded in São Caetano do Sul - SP, between March and October 2023 at Necropole Hall Studio. Production, mixing and mastering was done by producer Lucas Sepherus.
The time has come for the release of what is one of the most important albums of Carpatus' career, their fifth full-length studio album. It is a work that achieves the sonority that we have been refining over these almost 25 years of trajectory, rescuing that more atmospheric aura of the Black Metal of the 90s, combined with melancholic melodies and some experimentations, even if discreet, that were already present in our last albums, now in a more solid and present way.
"Magna Umbra", a reflection on feelings and emotions in the darkest moments, creating a depressive and sad atmosphere, deeply charged with melancholy and loneliness. Although aggressive, the musicality is much more atmospheric and conceptual, resulting in a work that summarizes the lyrical and musical concept of what Carpatus is", summarizes Frontman Dizruptor.
