BUTT PLUG (Dutch hardcore/crossover thrash) — ‘Odd School’

WTF Records present a remastered version of Odd School, the second album of the Dutch hardcore punk/crossover thrash group Butt Plug. Originally released in 1998, Odd School’s remastered edition is now available on 6-panel digipack CD (hand-numbered, ltd to 200 pcs) and digital/streaming platforms.
“One of the bands that introduced me to the world of great music,” the statement from Tim van Kleven, the owner of WTF Records, bespeaks the importance of Butt Plug in the Dutch hardcore/crossover scene. The Roosendaal-based Butt Plug released three CDs and one demo, playing in-your-face, no-limits, no-rules-allowed hardcore/thrash.
The sophomore album, Odd School, is an eclectic mix of hardcore, punk, and metal. Through the tracks, Butt Plug shows an outright and twisted sense of contempt for the garbage poured out daily by the media and the like. These aggressive, fast songs infrequently slow down aptly, when needed, to turn into an erratic route and pick up a different level of amped-up heaviness.
