BRAZIL’S ABSTRACTED RELEASE NEW MUSIC VIDEO “SIRENS” FROM THEIR RECENT ALBUM ‘HIRAETH’
Brazilian progressive metal group ABSTRACTED – who just performed supporting Between the Buried and Me in their homeland – have released a new music video “Sirens” from their current album, ‘Hiraeth.’ Watch “Sirens” to get a glimpse at the group perform the ambitious song blending blistering technicality with melodic and atmospheric moments.
"The song explores the universal feeling of grief and the process of loss, allowing each listener to find their own meaning in it. The lyrics were written by our drummer, Fernando, capturing his deeply personal emotions after losing his brother some years ago in a tragic accident on a highway,” explains the band. “To visually match this somber theme, the music video was filmed inside the ruins of the historic 'Casa da Frontaria Azulejada' in Santos (coastal region of São Paulo). Because the interior is heavily degraded, we had to perform with extreme care, as loud frequencies could literally cause parts of the structure to collapse. This fragile and intense atmosphere perfectly translates the weight of the song onto the screen."
‘Sirens’ off the six-piece’s latest album, ‘Hiraeth,’ sees the band exploring great lengths of the metal spectrum from melodic prog to brash and aggressive to cinematic all highlighted by some gifted musicianship. The new album was produced by Diego Castro (Kryour, Skid Life) with cover artwork by Roberto Emerita and is available on digital streaming/download platforms or jewelcase CD https://abstractedmetal.bandcamp.com (orders ship from US, Europe or Brazil depending on your location for cheaper and faster delivery).
