Blackened folk metal band ‘BERGSVRIDEN’ release new album ‘I HAGGANS AFTON.’ The album continues the band’s vision of merging a grim, swamp-ridden, old school black metal sound with the chilling horror of Swedish folklore. ‘I HAGGANS AFTON,’ strikes with the fury and cold of the North winds while exploring a dynamic environment with folk-laden instrumentation.
The Swedish ‘BERGSVRIDEN’ formed in 2013, founded by Anton “Trollmania” Tordås. The band’s name is drawn from “Berg” (mountain) and “Vriden” (twisted/grotesque/insane). The meaning behind the name represents the band’s devotion to the dark side of folklore and the ferocity of black metal.
‘I HAGGANS AFTON,’ intertwines an old-school approach to black metal among acoustic guitar, accordion, and flute, capturing both the danger and majesty of the North.
