Non Serviam Records proudly unleashes the second single “Brimstone Rain” from the upcoming album “Disillusioned By The Illusion”, the tenth full-length assault by US black/death metal veterans Aurora Borealis.

Coming 30 years after their first recording, the new record finds the long-running US black/death metal act moving forward without losing the identity that has defined them from the start.

Unlike some of the band’s previous releases, Disillusioned By The Illusion steps away from a strict conceptual framework and lets each song stand on its own. Across 46 minutes, Aurora Borealis deliver a focused and aggressive record built on technical precision, dark atmosphere and the kind of intensity that has kept the band relevant for decades. There is a clear sense of movement throughout the album, with each track exploring its own direction while still feeling part of the same body of work.

Founded by guitarist and vocalist Ron Vento after his departure from Lestregus Nosferatus, Aurora Borealis have built a deep catalogue since the mid-1990s, working with respected names such as Tony Laureano, Derek Roddy and Tim Yeung along the way. Over the years, the band has continued to evolve while staying rooted in a sound shaped by ferocious riffing, relentless drumming and a dark, commanding presence. That thread continues here.

Recorded and produced at Nightsky Recording Studios, Disillusioned By The Illusion keeps the current line-up intact, with Ron Vento on guitars and vocals, Eddie Rossi on bass and Mark Green on drums. The result is an album that feels sharp, confident and fully committed to the band’s own path. It is still unmistakably Aurora Borealis, but with a fresh sense of freedom in the songwriting.
