PRELUDIO ANCESTRAL were formed in Argentina in 2005 under the leadership of guitarist and composer Leonardo Gatti. After an early phase rooted in hard rock, the band gradually evolved toward an epic and melodic power metal sound, shaping a strong and distinctive identity through different stages and lineups.

In 2012, they released their debut album Hacia lo Inmortal (Towards the Immortal), which received very positive national and international feedback and led to support shows with bands such as Rhapsody of Fire and Stratovarius. This was followed by the EP Putrefaction (2013), their first release entirely sung in English, and the albums Kybalion (2015) and El Misterio de la Pasión Divina (The Mystery of Divine Passion”) (2016), further solidifying their position within the epic power metal scene.

In 2017, the band signed with Spanish label Fighter Records, which released their fourth full-length album Oblivion in 2018, an ambitious work featuring collaborations with Argentine musicians and European vocalists. PRELUDIO ANCESTRAL later released the EP Gloria Futura (“Future Glory”) in 2020 and the album Magnus in 2023, both self-released.

The band are currently finalizing their most anticipated album to date, Guardians of Twilight, a 12-track release scheduled for April 14th, 2026 through Fighter Records. The album was composed, mixed and mastered by Leonardo Gatti, reaffirming PRELUDIO ANCESTRAL’s epic vision and his status as one of Latin America’s most inspired composers within the genre.
