Nothingman, the upcoming album by Age of Ruin, features 10 songs filled with both harmony and angst. The band dedicated two years to create this album, starting the recording in October 2023 across various studios in Richmond, VA; Washington, DC; and Takoma Park, MD, with production by Mike Schleibaum from Darkest Hour. Nothingman is described as the band’s most intricate work, ready for release soon.
In 2023 and 2024, Age of Ruin promoted Nothingman by touring the East Coast, sharing stages with bands like Black Flag, Madball, Jimmy's Chicken Shack, and Anvil. The album showcases ripping guitars, intense drums, resonant bass, and powerful vocals, reflecting the band's punk and metal roots while exploring new sounds. The band is proud to present their music on all streaming platforms starting October 17.
The album credits include production by Mike Schleibaum at The Riff Dojo, mixing and mastering by Will Beasley at The Bakery, and original artwork by Zack Dunn. The band lineup includes Benjamin Swan on vocals, Daniel Fleming and Jonathan Clay on guitars, Christopher Fleming on bass, and Hendrik Osinga on drums.
Throughout history, different events have marked significant changes for mankind, but the late 90s brought a wave of heavy music that shaped what is now known as The Age of Ruin. For over 20 years, Age of Ruin has consistently released powerful music that resonates deeply and merges various themes and sounds. Despite lineup changes, the core members have remained focused, producing remarkable music under the guidance of Mike Schleibaum, creating a collection of songs that stand out in the metal scene.
