With “Evolution,” Greek Metal legends Acid Death present their most mature and radical work to date. For over three decades, the Greek band has stood for a musical vision that combines progressive ambition, technical sophistication, and relentless heaviness. Their eighth studio album not only continues this tradition—it takes it to a new level.

“Evolution” is a manifesto of artistic development: eight songs that are rhythmically complex, atmospherically dense, and emotionally uncompromising. Acid Death impressively fuse thrash sharpness, death metal power, and progressive structures with modern, organic-sounding elements. The production focuses on clarity and depth.

The drum recordings were made at the legendary SIERRA Studios in Athens, a place with more than 45 years of recording history, including artists such as Demis Rousos, Vangelis.

Papathanasiou, Iced Earth, and many more. The album was produced by Grammy Award winner Alexandros Chrysidis.

The album artwork was created by renowned Greek artist John Nakos (artwork designer for EVERGRAY, IMPERIUM, BLOOD RED THRONE, and many others).

Thematically, “Evolution” addresses questions of identity, technological progress, and the fragility of human existence. The Greek legends are supported by guest vocalist Kelly R Shaefer (ATHEIST, TILL THE DIRT, NEUROTICA) and guitarist James Murphy (DEATH, TESTAMENT, OBITUARY, among others), who contribute their skills to the track “The Gateway To Knowledge.”

“Evolution” is a powerful statement from a band that has firmly established its place in European metal, yet has never lost the urge to push boundaries. A perfect symmetry between progressive sound and aggression in a modern album with a modern concept.
