VANSIND’s new chapter has officially begun. Their sophomore album “Hævnen” is out today via Mighty Music, marking a powerful return from the Danish folk metal outfit following the impact of their 2023 debut, “Mørket”. This time the band push further, sharpening both sound and vision with a record that cuts deeper into themes of revenge, betrayal, freedom and sacrifice.

“With “Hævnen”, we wanted to explore the darker consequences of choice, loyalty and loss. It’s an album about standing your ground, even when the cost is high” the band states.

On “Hævnen”, Vansind expand their sonic identity into something more immersive and commanding. Crushing metal riffs intertwine with ancient folk melodies, while the interplay between harsh growls and soaring clean vocals is elevated by the evocative presence of bagpipes and tin whistles. The result is a sound that feels both raw and cinematic. Music that resonates with warriors, outsiders and restless spirits alike.

The album also sees the band digging deeper into Nordic mythology and Scandinavian history, breathing new life into age-old legends and forgotten narratives. Rather than simply revisiting the past, Vansind reshape it, connecting ancestral struggles with contemporary emotion in a way that feels immediate and unflinching.

Having already built a strong reputation on stage across Europe, appearing at festivals such as CopenHell, Cernunnos Pagan Fest, Ragnarök Festival, Malpaga Folk & Metal Fest and Warhorns Vikings II, the band bring that same intensity and authenticity into this release.

"Hævnen" is out now on LP (blue and black vinyl variants, each limited to 200 copies), CD and digital formats via Mighty Music. It can be ordered here and streamed here.
