As Darkness Falls”, the new album from The Obsidian Resurrection, is a brutal, energetic release that encapsulates the early beginnings of the band's musical career from twenty-five years ago up to now. A collection of songs reimagined from their 2003 demo, “Enslaved By Nightmares”, all reworked and given new life alongside tons of brand new material to complete the album that began it’s journey for them over two decades ago. The Obsidian Resurrection returns from their arduous journey with their new single, “Prophecy’s Will” off their upcoming debut album, “As Darkness Falls” to help set the stage for the album's upcoming January 10th release, and deliver a vicious attack on your senses.

After a long period of silence after the band’s untimely breakup, The Obsidian Resurrection returns to finish what they started so long ago. This album’s collection of songs is a reflection of not only their musicianship and dedication to their craft but also highlights their willingness to see things through to fruition. Exploring dark themes such as mental health, sin, dark magic, self-destruction, and a world at war, “As Darkness Falls” paints a haunting picture across its chilling, emotional landscape that will leave you wanting to dive deeper into the album experience with each consecutive listen.

As Darkness Falls” journey harkens to the bands early Death metal and Thrash metal roots from the glory days of bands such as Morbid Angel, Suffocation, and Hypocrisy. Their music delivers the thrashy grooves from other influences such as early Megadeth, Metallica, and Sepultura, but ties it all together in a unique package with orchestral influences from the early symphonic Black metal scene with sounds the likes of Dimmu Borgir, Emperor, and even Cradle Of Filth, while bringing it all together with their own unique sound and styling. The Obsidian Resurrection has had their fair share of ups and downs over so many years with this music, from lineup changes, to literal acts of God halting production on this album(lightning causing hard drives to render it defective is just one example), The Obsidian Resurrection has pushed through and persevered ‘til the end and have finally unleashed their music upon the masses.

As Darkness Falls” is available for pre-order now on their Bandcamp and grants you early access to the album's first single, “Prophecy’s Will”.
