Legends of doom/death metal, Marche Funèbre, set to release their superb new album, After The Storm!

Since their formation in Mechelen, Belgium at the dawn of 2008, Marche Funèbre have carved their own indelible mark into the annals of heavy music. Originally inspired by the renowned triumvirate of Peaceville bands – My Dying Bride, Paradise Lost and Anathema - Marche Funèbre have long since shaped those influences into a sound that is all their own, a unique distillation of melancholy, atmosphere, beauty and soul crushing heaviness. With revered albums like 2017s Into The Arms Of Darkness and 2020s Einderlicht they have risen to a place of prominence within the mournful ranks of doom metal’s elite – and still their creative star continues to rise. With a new deal in place with Ardua Music, Marche Funèbre are ready to unveil their fifth full length album, After The Storm – the most impactful and emotive set of songs to bear their name.

Magnificently produced, mixed and mastered by Martin Furia (Destruction, Nervosa, Toxik etc), After The Storm is overwhelmingly impressive from the very first notes of lilting melody that begin opening track ‘In A Haze’. Vast chords and superbly powerful, guttural vocals bleed into passages of bittersweet reflective melody, as poignant clean vocals add washes of colour to the deep shadows of sorrow. With every instrument so vibrantly alive, with each note carrying such weight of purpose, ‘In A Haze’ sets the tone perfectly for all the sombre magic that is to follow. Marche Funèbre have never sounded better than on the majestic ‘Palace Of Broken Dreams’, never captured the essence of their spirit so completely as with the wonderful slow thunder of ‘Enter Emptiness’. As the tempo smoothly shifts in ‘Devoid Of Empathy', as the vocal melodies soar above the ringing chords of ‘Stranded’ and as the final notes of ‘After The Storm’ fade to black…these are just some of the moments that will entrance you, stay with you and let After The Storm find a home in your heart forever.

After fifteen years of service, guitarist Peter Egberghs stepped down from the ranks of Marche Funèbre, following the recording sessions for After The Storm, with his place being taken by Fré De Schepper, making this album an even more pivotal one in the story of Marche Funèbre. Out on September 27th through Ardua Music, featuring the sumptuous artwork of long-term collaborator Brooke Shaden, After The Storm is simply unmissable.Listen to new single 'After The Storm' on Spotify now: https://open.spotify.com/album/7GrIMJ9gZqdQcaXyepBTrK
