Originally formed around the compositions of guitarists Jukka Keskinen and Marko Männikkö, JÛN quickly expanded into a six-piece lineup of experienced musicians from across Finland. The band blends melodic metal foundations with a heavier and more aggressive edge, shifting between crushing directness and more atmospheric, winding passages.
With The Endless Horizon, JÛN develops this contrast further. The track begins in a more restrained and melodic space before gradually building into full-speed intensity, reflecting the band’s approach to dynamic songwriting, where atmosphere and melody remain central, even at their most extreme.
Drummer Mikko Orava comments:
“While the debut single introduced our softer side, this track gradually grows into extreme metal proportions. It’s a strong example of our dynamic songwriting style, where beautiful melodies and atmosphere are ever-present, just waiting for the moment we hit the gas pedal and rip out the corner 200 km/h. Even the time signatures struggle to stay anchored in space and time, which isn’t surprising, considering the song’s distinctly intergalactic theme.”
