Black Lion Records is excited to announce the debut album of the US epic doom/traditional/power metal band Behölder. Titled In the Temple of the Tyrant, the album will be released on April 25 in vinyl, CD, and digital formats.

Behölder draws inspiration from ancient times and mixes heavy metal with fantasy elements, evoking the spirit of classic Dungeons & Dragons. Formed in late 2021 by guitarist Carlos Alvarez, a fan of D&D and old-school doom metal, the band quickly came together when vocalist John Yelland joined in late 2022, adding a powerful voice to the project. Guitarist Matt Hodsdon and drummer Andrew Julkowski soon joined, with bassist Michael “Oneirous” Sanchez completing the lineup in early 2024.

In the Temple of the Tyrant features eight tracks that blend classic doom metal with darker power and traditional metal. The album includes impressive riffs, beautiful melodies, and epic vocals, with contributions from Tomi Joutsen. It has been mixed and mastered by Ronnie Björnström, with artwork by Zsofia Dankova.
